How long does my order take?
Processing takes 7–14 business days. Once shipped, delivery is 3–5 business days within the U.S. You'll get a tracking number by email when your order is on its way.
What kind of photo should I send?
A clear, well-lit photo with your pet facing the camera works best — think of it as their official headshot! Avoid blurry, filtered, or heavily cropped images. Check our Photo Guide for examples.
Can I send multiple photos?
Yes! You can upload up to 3 photos. If you're not sure which one will work best, send us a few options and we'll help pick.
Do you embroider cats too? What about other pets?
Absolutely — dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, birds — if you love them, we can stitch them. Just send a clear photo and we'll take care of the rest.
What makes your embroidery different?
Every portrait is hand-digitized from your photo — not auto-traced or run through a filter. Each piece uses 30,000+ stitches and premium Madeira European thread, creating photo-realistic detail that most embroidered products can't match. The portrait is 5–6" wide, so you actually see the fur texture, eye depth, and markings.
Can I add text to my sweatshirt?
Yes! You can add text directly under the portrait (up to 15 characters — perfect for a name). For sleeve text, add our Sleeve Text Add-On to your cart.
What if I need to cancel my order?
You can cancel within 24 hours for a full refund. After 24 hours, if digitizing has begun, a $25 digitizing fee applies. See our Shipping & Returns page for full details.
Do you accept returns or exchanges?
Since every piece is custom made, we don't accept returns or exchanges. But if there's an error on our end, contact us within 48 hours with photos and we'll make it right. And if something isn't quite what you envisioned, reach out — we'll work with you.
How should I wash my sweatshirt?
Machine wash cold, inside out, on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry low or lay flat. No bleach, no high heat, no ironing directly on the embroidery. Full details on our Care Instructions page.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! Gift cards are available in our shop — perfect when you want to give a custom piece but want them to choose the details.
Do you ship internationally?
Currently we ship within the United States. If you're outside the U.S. and interested, reach out to info@barkndwell.com and we'll see what we can do.
What about collars and accessories?
For the cleanest portrait, we remove collars, harnesses, and accessories from the embroidery by default. If you'd like us to keep something specific, just let us know in the order notes!
